Ashiatsu Massage
What is Ashiatsu Massage?
Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique that requires the therapist to use their feet instead of their hands to perform the massage. It is believed to have first been developed in Kerala, India, over 2000 years ago and soon spread across Asia. The therapist will use bars, stools, or benches to balance themselves above the client and use their oiled feet to glide across the musculature.
Who is the ideal client?
Everyone! This is a very inclusive modality. People who love deep pressure will especially love this type of massage.
What will it feel like?
Ashiatsu allows for very deep but broad pressure. This is usually a more comfortable type of pressure, contrasting a more pinpointed pressure of elbows and thumbs. We can guarantee that you won’t be able to tell what a hand or foot is during this session. It’s deeply relaxing and will surely leave you melted on the table.
