Massage Therapy
What is it?
Massage therapy is an umbrella term to encompass a vast array of hands-on soft tissue manipulation. It is therapy available and rooted in almost every culture, country, and medical system. Massage therapy is medically necessary, emotionally cleansing, and energetically profound. Each practitioner is trained in a multitude of massage modalities. At House Nine, we offer a holistic approach, offering medically advanced techniques alongside energetic and spiritual belief systems. This allows a multi-faceted unwinding of the client’s physical, mental, and energetic bodies.
What should I expect?
Before your appointment, you will be sent an electronic medical intake form. This will consist of questions regarding your physical and emotional health. Please take your time in answering, as it will guide your practitioner’s techniques. During your service, you and your practitioner will review your health intake and collaboratively decide on a course of treatment.
Each practitioner has a unique approach to massage therapy and years of education that informs their techniques. Massage therapy can include light, gentle gliding, rocking, stretching, tapping/pounding, kneading, or static pressure/holding of soft tissue. Please always communicate with your practitioner on any preferences or boundaries. We are more than happy to accommodate your needs.
