What surprises me about nutrition:

  • There are an estimated number of 108 million Americans are on a diet.

  • Almost all people (98%) who lose weight on a diet regain the weight in a year.

  • 79% of Americans are unhappy about their appearances

  • 42% of Americans believe they need improvement in their physical health

I was also one of them. I struggled to accept my body and what I ate.

Honestly, I was confused. I was confused about what’s best to eat, how to exercise, and above all, balancing everything I had to do (work, school, family, friends) while limiting food intake and exercising excessively.

It took a while for me to figure out what I was doing wrong and how to make it right.

Even while studying to be a Registered Dietitian, I was not satisfied with the things I was taught or my body. I was trained in conventional nutrition teachings, which included calorie counting/restrictions, micronutrient intake, etc.

These methods and strategies can be effective if applied appropriately to a specific population. Unfortunately, these teachings weren't sustainable, and I found it hard to follow unless I became so meticulously type A... which I don't have the personality for.

I decided to challenge the status quo of conventional nutrition and weight management methods. We know they’re not a long-term solution for most people, and it's simply not fun to be on a diet forever!
